There will be new regulations for goods exported to Senegal in Africa from March 1, or you will face a fine!

Published in:2019-02-28

It is reported that all goods exported to the African country Senegal must have a Cargo Tracking Note-CTN.

Each container must indicate the CTN in the shipping instructions, and the above information must be indicated on the shipping order and cargo manifest.

CTN must be obtained by the consignor on COSEC's special website ( ConseilSénégalaisdesChargeurs ):

At present, shipping companies have been required to fully implement this regulation from March 1, 2019.  If there is no CTN on the bill of lading and cargo manifest or the number is invalid, the shipper will be liable for fines and related extra charges.

The fine is XOF 100,000(152 euros ) and will be paid under FID ( Third Party Fine Import ) surcharge.

In addition, another African country, the Republic of Liberia, has also implemented CTN regulations.

According to the regulations of the National Port Authority of the Republic of Liberia, all goods imported or exported in the country must have a cargo tracking list ( CTN ).

Shipping companies have been required to fully implement this regulation from February 1, 2019, and must obtain a valid CTN number from the carrier before loading.
